INTEGRATION COURSES

How do I look for an integration course? What do I have to do?

I receive a commitment from the Aliens’ Registration Office:

  1. Search for language school of my choice. Link of language course provider list on: www.hamburg.de/integrationskurse/ or www.bamf-navi.bamf.de
  2. Register and take a placement test at the language school.
  3. If available: submit proof of social benefits to the language school for cost exemption (applications to the BAMF will be submitted by the language school).
  4. If necessary: apply for travel expenses at the BAMF via the language course provider.
  5. If necessary: look for childcare (the MBE counselling centres can help with this).
  6. The language school sends you a message when the integration course starts.

I receive an agreement from the Job Centre:

  1. The Job Centre arranges an appointment for a placement test at the BAMF’s Test and Registration office.
  2. Attend the appointment.
  3. BAMF tests and suggests a language school to you.
  4. Register with the language school or another language school within approx. 7 days.
  5. If necessary: apply to the BAMF for travel expenses via the language course provider.
